As you’ve likely discovered, the process of getting recruited to the college of your choice can be complicated, confusing and downright scary.

Truth be told, you are entering a world of intense competition. Thousands of athletes just like you are vying for spots on college and university sports teams all across the nation. That’s why your chances of getting recruited to the college or university of your choice is so difficult without the right information.

But don’t worry! We’re here to help you make sense of the the college recruiting process. With the information on this website and inside our step-by-step college recruiting resources, we know that we can help you make sense of the college recruiting process.

How To Get Recruited

The first thing you should understand about the college recruiting process is that no matter how good of an athlete you are, if you don’t follow the proper steps and procedures, you don’t stand a chance of getting recruited to the college or university of your choice.

There are certain actions you need to take at very particular points in time… and if you fail to take these actions at the right time, you run the risk of not getting accepted to the school of your choice.

Sometimes it isn’t the best players that are recruited to the best schools. More often than not, it is the players who know how to work the college recruiting process that get their first choice when it comes to playing college or university sports.

This is why it is so important that you fully understand the process of college recruiting!

A Tip For Getting Recruited

Most athletes think that getting recruited to play on a college or university sports team is as simple as playing well and hoping that a college scout will come out and see them play.

The truth is, however, the college recruiting process rarely ever works like that – even for the best athletes in the nation.

Most college scouts are given very little money to spend on scouting out new players for their school. This means that if you live in a small state or town, the chances of a scout spending his limited budget to come out and see you play is very, very slight.

Instead, most scouts spent their recruiting budgets on trips to cities where there are thousands and thousands of potential athletes to choose from. It doesn’t mean that the players in these larger cities are any better than you, it’s just that there are more players to choose from, so the odds of a college scout finding a player he or she wants for his or her school is that much larger. It’s just smart business!

What this means for you, however,  is that if you want to play college sports, YOU have to first scout out the colleges and universities that YOU WANT TO PLAY FOR… and YOU have to do the necessary work to get recruited to that particular school.

Players with a game-plan get recruited to the colleges of their choice. Players with no game-plan run the risk of not playing college sports at all.

It’s this simple: If you don’t have a game-plan for the college recruiting process and you don’t reach out to the colleges that you want to play for, you will not be playing college sports.
